Stop Being “Tired”
Weekly Wisdom #13
[et_bloom_inline optin_id="optin_11"]
This week I have a beef, and I’m keeping it short. Everyone is tired. Or, at least everyone seems to brag about how much they (didn’t) sleep the night before. Like this is something to brag about? “I only got 3 hours of sleep last night…” I’m curious though, if they are so tired and got so few hours of sleep, what did they actually accomplish? What was the point? I can totally see being “tired” if you have a newborn, an emergency, or some other elevated type of calling. But, most people don’t. In fact, they use the saying “I’m tired” as a crutch to slack off, waste time on social media, watch TV, or countless other things. Now I know that some of these are vices that help people unwind from a long day. But 2-4 hours per day on social media or watching TV is not unwinding. Its an addiction. I don’t really have sympathy for people who want to make more money, have more success, or achieve more when they waste their time in such a bombastic manner. Seriously. Stop watching as much TV, Stop wasting so much time on social media, Start creating or building something. That is where the money, success and enjoyment are. Additionally. Take the word “tired” out of your vocabulary. It does you no good. I too used to use the word “tired”. I used it as a crutch. It dictated my workflow, my evenings, and my mornings. It prevented me from waking up early and going to the gym, it stopped me from putting in the long hours at night to continue building my businesses. It put a damper on the success that I know I could have. About a year ago I completely took the word “tired” out of my vocabulary. The results were phenomenal. I woke up earlier, I stayed up later. I got more done. Now I am not saying that sleep isn’t important. It is. But, when you say “I’m tired” you fall back on your vices like social media, TV, and whatever else may occupy your time. By taking the word “tired” out of your vocabulary, you get more done, feel better and eliminate the servitude towards your vices. This week I encourage you to try and eliminate the word “tired” from your vocabulary. Try it for a week. Just 1 week. Then let me know how it went.
THE BOOK OF THE WEEK
Cameron Herold’s – Double Double
(Click the Image to buy a copy of the Book)
I had drinks with Cameron Herold about 5 months ago at a mastermind group that we are both in. I had never met him, I had never heard of him, and I had never read his book. Fast forward 5 months. I had dinner with Tucker Max and he couldn’t recommend this book enough. When Tucker says to read a book, you READ IT. So I am. This book will only be useful for you if you own/operate your own business. So if you don’t, just take a pause on the book of the week and pick it back up next week. Enjoy!

Brendon Burchard’s – Motivation Manifesto
(Click the Image to buy a copy of the Book)
Brendon wrote a great book. Its deep, insightful and chalk full of some really great messages. Here are some of the big take aways:
- Everyone says, Ill get more motivation when X happens -> Its a moving target and that is why you have no motivation
- The people around you that do not support or uplift you, need to go.
- Finding your purpose does not strike like a lightening bolt, it takes time, and surrounding yourself with the right people helps you uncover your true purpose much quicker
- Laziness is a feeling and it makes you a slave to impulse and regrets.
